During the transportation process, waxy crude oil is prone to form a sedimentary layer on the inner wall of the pipeline due to the decrease in temperature, especially for submarine pipelines. If the drop is faster, the wax crystals in the oil are easily precipitated and deposited on the inner wall of the pipeline, resulting in the reduction of the pipeline flow area and the reduction of the pipeline transportation capacity. In addition, wax deposition will cause the gelation of crude oil, which increases the safety hazard of pipelines. In severe cases, it will cause pipeline blockage accidents and cause huge economic losses to production management. Therefore, in the process of pipeline transportation, how to predict and control the formation of wax deposition has always been a research hotspot in the petroleum industry at home and abroad. Studying the wax deposition law of submarine oil pipelines and predicting the distribution of wax deposition is beneficial to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline, and provides guidance for production practice.
